Cats and Gloves

Zac came home as a pussy-cat from kindy one day this week. He reminded me of the drummer from the band, Kiss. So much so that I let rip a rendition of "I Was Made For Loving You Baby" oh, maybe 10 times, much to the amusement of my neighbour - she asked if I was auditioning for Australian Idol, says she hears me singing all the time. I didn't realise I sang so much, is a bit embarrassing really, especially when the songs tend to be "If you're happy and you know it" and "Old MacDonald"...

As you can see, putting on gloves is a very serious business. This pink rubber glove is Zac's new favourite toy. He gets most upset with himself if he can't get the glove on properly...

Glove's on, everybody's happy!

Things are Happening at Clover Hill

Well, our retaining wall is up, so things are progressing... slowly... With 20 weeks to go, they'd better get a move on! The picture below shows our front yard, with the rainwater tank partly obscuring the garage.

Here's Scotty doing his bestest plumber's bum-crack impression, installing his downpipes. Zac's in Scott's ute laughing at the wind.

The retaining wall holds up the garage and the front lawn. Nice views over the back, hey?

The retaining wall is 2m high on this corner; we should catch some nice breezes.

It's a ............... GIRL!!!!!

Here she is, our new little bubba, who's due in 4.5 months time, on 5 July. Zac, Scott and I went for my 20-week scan today and clearly saw the girl bits. I've heard that girl predictions can sometimes be wrong, but the lady doing our scan said, "If this was my ultrasound I was looking at, then I'd paint the baby's room pink!" So that sounds pretty definite to me! And we're very happy too. I would've been happy with a boy too, but it'll be nice having a girl... I'm thinking she might calm our household down a bit, there's too much testosterone flying around at the moment, I'm out-numbered!!

Not Happy, Jan!

'Nuff said.

My Milkshake Brings All the Girls to the Yard

I couldn't resist putting this picture up - mango milkshakes are the goods!

Our House!

Or, rather, our vacant block of land. But as you can see, construction has started and we're very excited!

The big pile of dirt on the left is our garage, with the house pinned out beyond that. The retaining wall should be up this week, then the garage slab poured after that.

Sully the Sparky and Scotty the labourer hard at work (or very good pretenders!)

Cool-down Session

This is Zac and Cooper (and Cooper's Mum, Ang's legs in the background) playing with a watering can in our backyard. Their little faces say it all.

Hair Cut Boy (Mullet-no-more)

As promised, here is an update on Zac's mullet, or rather, mullet-no-more. A big improvement, no?

Camping Classics - New Year, 2007

We went camping over New Years with the McGuanes and the Higginses, to Noosa on the Sunshine Coast. Don't ya just love camping? Kickin' back, doing not much, just lazin' and yellin' at the kids to "get off the road" and "I said GET OUT OF THE BIN" and "Zac, get me a beer, no, beer, over there in the esky"...

This is Flavour and Lucy enjoying some bikkie's at the kiddie's table...

... and Scott and Zac eating bikkie's at the grown-up's table.

And me and Zac drying off from a trip to the beach (where he pooed in his swimmers with no nappy on; poo and wet swimmers not a good combination).

Xmas Day - 2006

This is Zac's first 'real' Christmas, because he was too little last year to really get amongst it and tear open those pressies. This is him enjoying his camping chair from Aunty Maureen and his cubby house from Nanna Sue. We had an awesome day, we went to the beach after brekky (see brekky photo below), then spent the day eating and swimming at our cousin's new house just up the road from us. I was 12 weeks pregnant on Xmas Day, so I allowed myself a bit of a tipple - champagne, of course! Xmas is much more special with little ones running about and Zac had heaps of fun playing with his cousins.

This is an update of the mullet. As you'll see in future posts, he looks much better with his haircut. I can't believe I waited so long to get it cut! Oh and don't you love the snotty nose and crusty Weet-bix chin?!

Here are our crazy Kuhnemann cousins in the pool.

And here are my beautiful boys whoopin' it up - check out the joy in Zac's face - he's lovin' that boogie board!

At the beach - November 2006

Our good friend Sheila has recently started up her own photography business. Her images are amazing. So when she offered to take our photos, we jumped at the chance. The conditions weren't perfect - it was windy and my hair was flying everywhere, and Zac wasn't the most patient of subjects - but we got some good shots. Thanks Leil, you're the best.

Zac's birthday - 4 October 2006

Here's some piccie's of our Zac man on his birthday. Isn't he a fine specimen?! We think so. He had a huge day by the pool, eating cake, flirting with girls, playing with his cousin. He's wearing a t-shirt given to him from his Aunty Moo. He's also sporting the beginnings of what will turn out to be a very fine mullet. The birthday cake was done by me and Nanna Sue. It's a 'Z' and a '1'. Took way too long to do and caused much unnecessary stress - the icing was too runny, the cake too soft... I fully appreciate those Mums who make perfect birthday cakes year after year for their kid's birthdays (SH, you know who you are!) but alas, I'm not one of them. It's off to the ice-cream shop for me next year!
